Industry Training

Wilson Community College is one of 15 community colleges across North Carolina that offers the BioWork certificate program. The course, managed by North Carolina Community College System’s BioNetwork, teaches foundational skills that help begin a career as a process technician for a biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or chemical manufacturing company. The BioWork certificate program will be one of the first industry training courses to be taught at the BEST Center.

The BEST Center will offer open enrollment courses and customized training. The BEST Curriculum Committee is currently developing a plan for open enrollment courses that will take advantage of the unique features of the BEST Center. Customized training courses are developed and delivered based on requests from local industry partners.

Finally, the BEST Center will partner with academic partners, such as BTEC at NC State University and East Carolina University, as well as vendors to host additional hands-on courses.
